I'm a senior editor at the magazine High Country News, covering science, climate and the Northwest from Moscow, Idaho. I've also written for two other magazines, Science and New Scientist, and two newspapers, the Santa Cruz Sentinel and the Mercury News. In 2016, I graduated from the Science Communication Program at U.C. Santa Cruz. Before that, I worked in freshwater ecology labs in Alaska and Idaho. Every once in a while I find the time to jump on my skis or into the nearest pool/river/lake, depending on the weather.
